Some of what makes these tools work was made by other people and given away. This is who, and under what terms.
Used by the rhyme finder. Every rhyme on that page comes from CMU's pronunciation data — around 125,000 English words mapped to their North American pronunciations. The tool would not exist without it, and a rhyme finder built on spelling instead would be wrong often enough to be useless.
We ship a derived index rather than the original file: words grouped by everything from the last stressed vowel onward. The grouping is ours; the pronunciations are theirs.
