New letters every day
Same seven for everybody, everywhere, today. One of them uses all the letters.

The curve is steep deliberately. If three-letter words scored proportionally, the best strategy would be to type every three-letter combination you can think of for sixty seconds — which is a typing test rather than a word game. Hunting for the long one should win.
Find the suffix first
Look for -ER, -ED, -ING, -EST, -LY sitting in the tiles. If one is there, you have a way to lengthen half the words you find.
Then the prefix
RE-, UN-, DE-, PRE-. Same trick from the other end, and both together is often the seven-letter word.
Say the vowels out loud
Anagramming is easier by ear than by eye. Most people find long words by hearing a plausible sound and checking it, not by rearranging letters visually.
Type plurals
If there is an S, every four-letter noun you found is also a five-letter word worth 200 more points. It is the cheapest score in the game.
There is no server involved. Today's date is turned into a number, that number seeds a small random generator, and the generator picks the word and shuffles the tiles. Run the same date anywhere in the world and you get the same seven letters.
Which means nothing can go down at midnight, no account is needed, and nothing about your game is recorded anywhere — including your score, which lives in the tab until you close it.
The source words are chosen from a list of 778 seven-letter words that each yield at least 80 findable words. A seven-letter word picked at random is usually a poor puzzle, so they were scored against the whole dictionary in advance.
Stuck afterwards? The word unscrambler runs on the same dictionary and will show you everything you missed — though it is better used tomorrow than today.
Everything here runs in your browser — nothing you type is uploaded anywhere.
